Pernod Ricard Bursary 2023

To address the skills shortage in South Africa, Pernod Ricard has launched a R7 million bursary program that will help students from disadvantaged backgrounds complete their degree programs. The program will provide financial support to students who are studying full-time for undergraduate degrees in various fields, such as engineering, finance, and legal. Those who are looking to work in the commercial finance, quality control, or internal auditor fields are also eligible to apply.

According to the Human Resource Director of Sub-Saharan Africa, South Africa, the country has immense potential, and the government and private sectors can play a vital role in addressing the country’s skills shortage. Through the program, Pernod Ricard hopes to help the youth develop the necessary skills to help the country grow.

The program will cover various expenses, such as university tuition fees, study materials, and other registration fees. Apart from these, the student will also be entitled to receive meals allowances, as well as sundry allowances. The candidates will be selected through interviews and will be able to participate in an internship program with Pernod Ricard.

Bursary Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants have to suffice the following criteria to be considered eligible for the bursary

The candidate must be a South African or Sub-Saharan Africa citizen
The applicant must be in their second year of a full-time undergraduate degree course from an accredited and recognized University in South Africa
Preference will be given to applicants pursuing degrees in engineering, technology, finance, and legal courses
Applying candidates have to obtain a minimum 65% average in their first year of degree
The candidate has to maintain a minimum average of 65% for the renewal of the bursary
The applicant must come from a disadvantaged background

Candidates have to provide the following documents at the time of application form submission

Certified copy of ID documents
Matric certificate
Complete academic transcripts
Acceptance letter of proof of studying at the University, preferably on the letterhead of the institution
Statement of academic costs including tuition, academic, test, accommodation and other related costs
Income proof of guardian or parents (submission of affidavit for unemployed)
Banking details of the applicant with expenses and income form
A 500-word essay describing why the applicant should be considered for the Pernod Ricard bursary

Closing Date:

The deadline for applications for the Pernod Ricard Bursary is February 15, 2023. However, applications that were submitted after that date will not be considered for the program.
