ABOUT THE LIMPOPO GOVERNMENT BURSARY PROGRAMME – EXPENSES COVERED & SELECTION
The bursary will help cover the cost of tuition fees, registration fees, meals, accommodations, and books for eligible students.
The deadline for submission of applications is 60 days from the date of publication of the bursary application. If you are not notified of your selection, please consider that your application is unsuccessful.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LIMPOPO GOVERNMENT BURSARY
Before an applicant can be considered for a position, they must first meet the following entry criteria. Failure to meet these requirements will not allow them to be considered.
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must residing within the Limpopo province
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above, in 2023
- You must be studying at a public institution of higher learning
The goal of this bursary is to provide support to youth from various race groups. It also focuses on individuals with disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE LIMPOPO GOVERNMENT BURSARY
Students who meet these criteria should submit all necessary documents in order to be considered for admission. Failure to do so could disqualify their application:
- Application letter (this must be written by the applicant and must include the reference number: S5/1/1)
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate
- Latest academic results/ record, if currently studying (on institutions letterhead)
- Proof of registration or provisional acceptance at a public institution of higher learning (on institutions letterhead)
- Proof of residence in Limpopo
- Parents or guardians proof of income (latest pay slips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed)
- Proof of disability if applicable
Students should only fill out the list of documents provided to apply for the bursary. There is no need to submit an application form.

The Limpopo Province is situated in South Africa’s northern most region, which shares borders with Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. It’s named after the Limpopo River, which flows through its northern border. This area is rich in wildlife and historical relics.
One of the government’s departments in Limpopo is the transport and community safety department. Its objective is to enhance the province’s socio-economic development by providing safe and sustainable transport services. It also aims to strengthen the fight against corruption and crime by working together with the SAPS (South African Police Service)
